Mascoteros opens financing round to promote its own brands

pet keepers, Spanish marketplace focused on the animal sector, has transformed its business model to enhance its animal-friendly positioning and the launch of its natural and sustainable brands. The company, created by Atresmedia Hub Factory (A3HF) -a joint venture of Atresmedia and Antai Ventures-, offers services, televeterinary assistance and specialized content for the community pet parent, in addition to a wide range of natural and sustainable products made to promote proper nutrition and animal health.

With more than 155,000 active users, Mascoteros has a catalog of more than 175 brands. In turn, the platform finalizes the launch of its own natural and sustainable brands -which have the scientific endorsement of professionals in the sector:

  • Native, focused on high quality natural food.
  • Taniwa, specialized in vegan cosmetics
  • Animal Republic, toys and accessories

Mascoteros expects to close the year with a turnover of 1.6 million euros, while for the next three years it estimates an average annual growth of 70%. Therefore, the startup plans to reach a turnover of 16.8 million euros in 2025.

To accompany growth, the startup has opened a round of financing on the crowdfunding platform Crowdcube with the aim of raising half a million euros. This capital will complete a financing of 1.9 million euros starting in 2021. The resources will be used for the development and production of its three brands Nativo, Taniwa, Animal Republic.

In this way, Mascoteros will reinforce its position in the pet sector, which is estimated to move around 1,800 million euros in Spain and 34,000 million euros in Europe. It is a booming market where emerging companies have received more than 50 million euros in financing in the last 6 years, while in Europe the figure exceeds 1,000 million euros.

In parallel, Mascoteros works to promote its community of “Animal Fighters”which is characterized by a strong position in the active defense of the rights and welfare of animals and the generation of specialized content.
