Matrix 4 finally has a title and… here’s the description of the first trailer!

On the occasion of the opening of the CinemaCon, Warner Bros showed the first trailer of Matrix Resurrections which, as revealed on the same occasion, will officially be the title of Matrix 4.

And for those of you who don’t have a short memory… that’s right! This is the very same title that was revealed in error last year, but which was promptly denied several times by Warner Bros.

The official title of Matrix 4 revealed, along with the description of the trailer

Below, however, you can find the description of the trailer for Matrix Resurrections, whose debut on the net should take place shortly, in the coming weeks, considering that the release date of the film is still set for next December 22nd.

The trailer opens with Neil Patrick Harris talking to Keanu Reeves in a therapy session in a futuristic version of San Francisco. It seems that Neo is trapped in a fake world, just like he was in The Matrix but he feels that something is wrong, he is not comfortable with where he is. Reeves asks, “I’m crazy,” to which Harris replies, “We don’t use that word here.”

The scene shifts to Neo making contact with Trinity (Carrie Anne Moss) in a bar and she asks, “Have we met before?” There is obviously something strange going on here and everyone is slowly realizing that they are trapped in the Matrix, a world they don’t belong to.

Then a scene where some blue pills spilling into a sink and, at the same time, Jefferson Airplane’s song “White Rabbit” is playing. At one point there is a shot of Neo looking in the mirror and his reflection begins to distort and turn into an old man.

A scene restarts in which Neo looks up at the sky watching a flock of birds flying around. We then see him in an elevator with a group of people on their phones, and he’s looking at the reflection of everyone looking at their screens.

Things take a turn for the worse here and a young Morpheus, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, shows up telling Neo it’s “time to fly” and then hands him a red pill. Neo also meets a blue-haired person who has a rabbit tattoo and they end up walking through a mirror.

It all ends in a dojo on a lake, with Abdul-Mateen’s young Morpheus saying, “The only thing that matters to you is still here. You will never give up. ” Then they start shedding, and at one point Neo hits this character, a super strong Morpheus in the chest, sending him flying out of the room.

From here, there are some awesome and explosive fighting action sequences, as you would expect to see in a Matrix movie!

In the cast of the film will be present Keanu Reeves (Neo), Carrie Ann-Moss (Trinity), Jada Pinkett-Smith (Niobe), Daniel Bernhardt (Agent Johnson), Lambert Wilson (The Merovingian) and new entrances such as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Christina Ricci, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra And Jonathan Groff.

Written by Lana Wachowski with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell, Matrix Resurrections will be directed by Wachowski herself.

The release date has been set for December 22, 2021.
