Metroid Dread: Nintendo releases a new trailer for the game

The saga of Metroid, one of Nintendo’s historic brands, shows no signs of stopping and is ready to arrive on Switch with the new chapter “Dread“, Which shows its full potential in the trailer released on Youtube.

Initially planned as a sequel to Metroid Fusion, the Dread project was canceled in the early 2000s and then resumed and rebuilt a few years ago, with the announcement of its arrival at the last E3.

The type of game and the characteristic elements that will be present in the new Metroid Dread have been shown in the trailer released by Nintendo.

A long video that shows the weapons available to our character, the upgrades and the skills he can acquire. A quick and easy summary for all those who have never played the first, historical chapters and an overview of what this new platform can offer.

In fact, we return to lateral scrolling, even if enhanced by the latest generation 3D graphics, to arrive on Nintendo Switch.

The development of the game is entrusted to the Spanish team MercurySteam, formerly responsible for Metroid: Samus Returns for 3DS in 2017.

In Metroid Dread players will once again control bounty hunter Samus Aran as she explores the planet ZDR. Samus will be pursued by the deadly EMMI, robots sent to the planet in reconnaissance by the Space Federation, previously allied with Samus.

The game will provide the protagonist with new moves and new skills, including climbing walls. In addition to this, there will be the return of the Aeion Powers, introduced in the previous Metroid: Samus Returns.

The announcement of the development of the game took place during the last E3, with Nintendo confirming the realization of Metroid Dread, whose release is scheduled for October 8 this year.
