Microsoft Edge will soon have a new rather practical feature. Called Drop, it will allow users to transfer their files to other devices on which the internet browser is installed.
Over the years, Microsoft Edge has acquired many additional features and the work of the American giant has obviously paid off since Edge has become the second most used browser in the world. As of early May 2022, Edge offers a built-in free VPN. Unfortunately, it remains less effective than a classic VPN, the fault of the impossibility of masking its geolocation.
However, the next novelty to come on Edge will concern file sharing. At present, there are not 36 solutions to transfer files from one device to another. Generally, users send their files by mail or opt for Google Drivewhich recently allows you to use keyboard shortcuts to copy, cut and paste.
Microsoft intends to offer another alternative to its users. As revealed by our colleagues from the Neowin site, the American manufacturer is working on a native function that will allow files to be shared between your devices where the browser is installed.

Unfortunately, it is impossible for the average user to try Drop at this time.
Indeed, the feature is only available for Edge Canary 104 users, the latest version of the browser reserved for developers. Nevertheless, and as the screenshots shared for Neowin show, if you are in this specific case, you can enable Drop from the Appearance tab in the browser Settings.
