
The Redmond giant has released new firmware updates for Surface Laptop 3, Surface Book 2, and Surface Laptop 2. These updates They have very different goals. depending on the team to which they are directed, although in all cases they are important and you should proceed to install them as soon as they appear available to you.
However, first of all keep in mind that although no problems have been detected in these updates, there is always the possibility that something has escaped, and since it is not possible to revert a firmware update, it is recommended that you have done an updated backup before proceeding with its installation.
We start with the update for Surface Laptop 3. This fixes a set of important security vulnerabilities, improves stability with Surface Dock 2, and fixes an issue that affected Wi-Fi connectivity. There are few changes that this firmware update brings, but important as we have seen. At the driver level, this update brings important new features that we can see perfectly detailed in the attached table.

As for the updates for Surface Book 2, these fix major vulnerabilities and bring new drivers, including:

We turn now to the update for Surface Laptop 2, and we see that this brings the same changes as the update for Surface Book 2so there is nothing to highlight that we have not already said.
If we want to install these updates we will need to have our Surface updated to at least Windows 10 20H1that is, to the update of the month of May 2020. Remember that these types of updates are usually rolled out gradually, so if they still do not appear as available to you, it will only be a matter of time.
