According to Yusuf Mehdi, Head of Consumer Marketing at Microsoft, Bing users have already had more than 500 million chat sessions with the platform since last February. In addition, they have created about 200 million images since the introduction of Bing’s generative AI image creation feature, which arrived at the end of March.
Mehdi has confirmed that Bing has more than 100 million daily users, although he acknowledges that the number is small compared to the total number of Internet users who search the Internet. However, he also noted that Bing mobile app installs have quadrupled since the launch of the Bing AI Chat beta. But in addition to figures, the manager has also spoken about Microsoft’s plans for the evolution of Bing AI Chat.
Among them will be the ability to save and resume chat sessions at any time. It will also be possible to export and share chat. Additionally, Bing AI Chat will be able to embed photos and videos into your responses. The company is going to make its responses more visual, and will now include charts and graphs.
The answers will also have an updated formatting, which will facilitate the location of information. Bing Image Creator, integrated for a few weeks in Bing AI Chat, can also be used from now on in all the languages in which Bing is available, which are more than a hundred.
Going forward, Mehdi has indicated that Microsoft plans to expand the capabilities of Bing AI Chat to give it multimodal functionality, which will allow its users to search by uploading a photo to the platform, and letting Artificial Intelligence analyze them and respond to requests for the image made appropriately. Of course, this function is not yet ready, and there is no scheduled date for its launch.
Edge users will have the integration of some Bing features. Among them, the ability to make Artificial Intelligence organize tabs automatically after a user clicks on a link that they recommend during navigation.
