Microsoft releases major update for Surface Pro 7

The Redmond giant has released a major new update for the Surface Pro 7, and we can identify it as the firmware update of the month for January. The list of news that brings it is important and interesting and brings changes that introduce different improvements and fix several important bugs, so much so that some caused blue screens of death.

There are three novelties that stand out Microsoft of this update for Surface Pro 7:

  • Improves the performance and stability of the system camera and solves the problem of system bug checks.
  • Improves Windows Hello login stability.
  • Improves connectivity when we use third-party docks.

Making a detailed breakdown of all the news that this update brings, we have a much longer list which we are going to see next:

What's new Surface Pro 7

In order to install this update it is essential that our Surface Pro 7 is updated to Windows 10 2004 or higher, or Windows 11 21H2 or higher. We can get the update both through Windows Update, which is ideal since the fact that it appears there as available is a sign of compatibility and full support, and also through the official Surface support website.

I remind you that Surface Pro 7 is in its final stretch of support, and that As of October 22, 2023, you will no longer receive firmware updates. This does not mean that it will be completely abandoned, since it will continue to have a basic level of support through the updates that Windows 10 or Windows 11 will receive. Its useful life will depend on which of the two we have installed, since the first will end its official support cycle in 2025although it is possible that Microsoft will end up offering an extended support period.
