Microsoft Teams: less stressful video calls

The Redmond giant is preparing a new function whose main objective is to make video calls in Microsoft Teams a little less stressful. To achieve this, the company plans to incorporate a new function that will allow us to hide our video source, so that we will not be able to see it, but the rest of the participants will.

I know that some of our readers might wonder why this is so important, and the answer is very simple, because many users have a strong tendency to focus more on your video signal, in his image and in everything related to his own actions, and in how these are seen by the other participants, than in the keys of the event.

By giving the option to suppress our video signal, we remove a possible distraction, and we can focus on the keys to the video call. To avoid problems and unwanted situations, Microsoft Teams will remind us, with an indicator, that our camera is still active. It is an important detail, especially in the face of events that are especially long, and that may have several rest periods.

It is a very successful measure, since with it that feeling of looking in a mirror is eliminated that the participants of a video call usually have, something that in the end ends up generating some stress and that can even become a source of stress, as we have already said. However, it will be an optional function that the user can activate and deactivate in Microsoft Teams at will, so if we prefer to see each other in the video call we can do it without any problem.
