Microsoft wants to include ChatGPT in Office

I already mentioned it a few hours ago, when talking about apps for iOS, ChatGPT is one of the technological products that has been standing out the most in recent months. Some companies are interested in integrating it into their products and services, as we told you a few days ago about Microsoft with Bing, while others are forced to step on the accelerator with regard to their own artificial intelligence developments, as we have learned is happening. in Google.

Other AIs, such as DALL-E 2, have attracted a lot of attention from the general public, and have even sparked such interesting debates as whether or not their creation can be considered art, but for some reason, and despite the fact that precedents such as GPT 3, it has been this bot, the most recent creation of Open AI, which has been a revulsion for a good part of the industry, which is now considering all the possibilities that the integration of AI in its products and services poses.

Such is, without a doubt, the case of those from Redmond since, if a few days ago we told you about their plans regarding Bing, today we know from The Information that Microsoft is testing the integration of ChatGPT in some of the Office applications… sorry, from Microsoft 365 (I already clarified that it is a name change that seems correct to me, but surely we will all continue using the name Office for some time).

The first of the tests with ChatGPT is so logical that surely it has already crossed your mind, and it is that Microsoft’s intention is to use this technology to improve the autocompletion function in Microsoft Word. At this point, Google’s word processor is currently quite efficient, so much so that it is sometimes surprising, but if Microsoft manages to properly implement the ChatGPT functions in this function, the result can be spectacular.

But the thing does not stop there, Microsoft would also have been testing ChatGPT in Outlook to substantially improve its search function, in addition to allowing them to be carried out with voice commands, which the assistant would be able to interpret and contextualize, as well as to offer suggestions for response to emails we receive.

Before these uses materialize, it is essential, of course, that those responsible for ChatGPT are able to solve the problems of this AI, especially its predisposition to invent answers when it does not know the correct answer. We were already able to verify it here, and this is a major stumbling block. However, and more so if we take into account that Microsoft has a stake in Open AI, we can assume that they must be working on it.
