Microsoft will integrate ChatGPT into more products

That Microsoft lives what we can describe as an idyll with ChatGPT and, more generally, with OpenAI, it is something that does not escape anyone. On the one hand, we have plans, which we have already told you about on more than one occasion, to integrate the technology of this chatbot in some of its products and services and on the other, no less important, also the financial investment made by those from Redmond in the company, which already in 2019 contributed 1,000 million dollars to OpenAI, and which has recently announced a new investment « billionaire,” in his own words.

The first thing we knew about the intention to include ChatGPT functions in Microsoft services was related to Bing, the company’s search engine. A few days later it emerged that they also intend to use this technology in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365, with several proposals for its implementation that are quite interesting. It is undoubtedly, therefore, that in Redmond they are racking their brains to find so many practical applications of AI in their portfolio of solutions as possible, so I bet that we will have a lot more news in this regard throughout this 2023.

This is quite understandable, since the progress we have experienced in the last year in terms of artificial intelligence has been more than remarkable. From image and text generation models to other more specific solutions that are equally surprising due to their results, for the general public the concept of artificial intelligence has ceased to sound like science fiction to become an indisputable reality. A reality that, for companies like Microsoft, can make a big difference.

Microsoft will integrate ChatGPT into more products

Thus, according to the company itself, now Microsoft also wants to implement ChatGPT technology in Microsoft Teams, more specifically in Teams Premium. In this way, the service will be able to offer functions such as the automatic creation of an intelligent summary of notes taken in meetings, as well as live transcriptions. The software will be able to identify in the notes and summaries which participant has made each of the contributions.

On the other hand, as we can read in Digital Trends, There are also news regarding its implementation in Bing, and what is raised in this rumor makes perfect sense. If you have already used ChatGPT on some occasion (if not, here we will tell you, step by step, how to do it), you will know that it takes time to complete the answers to your queries, something that makes sense in its current usage model, but which could be maddeningly slow in the context of performing an Internet search.

To avoid this problem, it seems that Microsoft will use a special version of ChatGPT “powered” by GPT 4 in Bing, the future OpenAI text generation model (its current version is GPT 3), which stands out, among other reasons, for offering answers much faster. According to reports, the implementation is already being tested with a model called, internally, GPT 3.5, which has some of the functions of the future version. If Microsoft and OpenAI are able to get answers generated instantly and, of course, fix the problem of erroneous and made-up answers, the result could mark the future of Internet search engines.
