For a long time the operating system that Microsoft offers us, windows, in its different versions has been at the forefront of the sector. But despite its enormous market penetration, among the many complaints from its detractors we find the lack of reliability that the software offers in certain situations.
Over the years and for example compared to Linux, Windows has been characterized by its constant crashes for different reasons. But now Microsoft wants to solve all this to a large extent thanks to an important change that has been requested for years. It is true that those running the new operating system, Windows 11, for the first time, they will see your interface changes immediately. A clear example of all this can be found in the focused Taskbar or in the renovated Start Menu.
It is not that it is neither better nor worse, the new interface of the system has both its defenders and its detractors. It is something that is observed at first glance as soon as you turn on the computer and start working with it. microsoft software released a few months ago. In fact, it could be said that Windows 11 is characterized, at least initially, by its modernized default user interface. However, besides this visual changes that we are talking about, we must also keep in mind all those carried out in the background and that are more hidden.
We are going to show you a clear example of all this in these same lines with an important change that the company is working on right now. It is something that we will not see at first sight but that it will improve the experience and work on Windows in a big way.
Windows 11 will be more stable than ever
We tell you all this because now, one of Microsoft’s development objectives is improve stability and reliability of the new operating system. All this can be achieved thanks to the modifications that are being carried out in the important process called Explorer.exe. Perhaps most of you initially associate this process, which is constantly running, with the System File Explorer.
However, it is important to know that it goes much further. And it is that there are many other elements linked to this process that we are commenting on, such as the Windows Desktop itself or the Taskbar. Basically this means that in case there is any problem with explorer.exe, we will suffer a blockage of basic elements of the operating system. So much so that on many occasions it is unusable. Hence precisely, to solve it, sometimes we have the possibility of restarting this process from the Task Manager, for example.
This type of blockage related to the process that we mentioned has been accompanying us and harming the operation of Windows for a long time. In fact, all this could be considered as one of the main sources of reliability issues of the system. However, the change in this regard, which is called to significantly improve the reliability of Windows 11, is beginning to be seen in the latest preliminary versions.
Actually, Microsoft has begun to unlink those elements that we have mentioned from the system interface, from the Explorer.exe process. Specifically, this change moves some important elements such as the Desktop or the Taskbarto your own process. As you can imagine, this means that if an error occurs in Explorer.exe, this will not affect those transcendental elements in Windows 11, so we can forget about crashes and hangs. It is worth mentioning that all this is in full development and that it is expected to reach everyone by the end of 2023.
