Already in the first days of January we learned of Microsoft’s plans to use this technology in Office and Microsoft 365, and less than a month later the company itself advanced part of its plans in this regard. However, since we started to know more and more about the browser and with Microsoft Edge, the rest of the plans in this sense seemed to be in the backgroundsomething understandable if we take into account the pace of work of the company in this particular bet.

However, since the end of last month it began to be rumored that we would soon find out about Microsoft’s plans to bring artificial intelligence to other applications and productivity services, which also includes the Office / Microsoft 365 family, of use common both among private and professional users. However, until now there had been no confirmation in this regard, so we remained expectant.

But we can already say it in the past tense, since Microsoft has confirmed that it will hold an event on artificial intelligence on March 16. The confirmation has been produced on the company’s profile on LinkedIn, in a publication in which we can read that the name of the event is “The future of work: Reinventing productivity with AI»and that the event will be hosted by Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, and Jared Spataro, corporate vice president of work and business applications. Undoubtedly, the presence of the CEO indicates the importance that the company attaches to this event.

Although an agenda for the event has not been released, we can expect the first productivity apps to receive AI features to be Microsoft Word and Outlook. In the first case, surely related to assistance in writing documents, which can be greatly enhanced with the help of a generative AI. In Outlook, for its part, we can expect functions such as the automatic writing of responses, but also others such as the creation of message summaries. Be that as it may, we will be very attentive to said event, and we will tell you about it.
