Microsoft works on a new Surface Laptop with Windows 11 SE

With a family of devices that already covers practically all the fronts and needs of users, as reported now from Windows Central, it seems that Microsoft would be preparing for the launch of a new low-cost Surface Laptop geared towards the education sector, which could come with the also rumored new Windows 11 SE operating system.

Under the code name «Tenjin», this laptop will be equipped with an outer cover completely made of plastic materials, with an 11.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, and a heart driven by a combination of Intel Celeron N4120 processor and a configuration of up to 8 GB of RAM. Also, this Surface iWill include a full-size keyboard and trackpad, plus a fair but efficient connectivity section with a USB-C port, a USB-A port, a headphone jack and an AC port.

Regarding its software, although at the moment we do not have official details about it, it is not the first time that we have heard about this special version of the new Microsoft operating system. Thus, it is expected that this Windows 11 SKU is optimized for schools that implement low-end Windows hardware, speculating on the possibility that this “SE” nomenclature is in fact associated with a “School Edtion” label or similar.

In this way, the Surface Laptop “Tenjin” is expected to compete head-to-head with the current cheap chromebooks from other brands such as HP, Dell or Lenovo, which already have enough impact on this educational market, so we could expect a price in the range below $ 400 marked by this competition.

Something that seems to be we will soon be able to confirm, since according to Windows Central, the device is practically ready to work and It will be announced before the end of this year.
