MINISFORUM NUCXI5 and NUCXI7, two small and slim PCs with dedicated GPU

The new MINISFORUM NUCXI5 and MINISFORUM NUCXI7 are emerging as two really compact and very thin PCs that, despite their small format and size, are capable of mounting dedicated NVIDIA graphics solutions, although for this they have had to resort to the laptop versions of these graphic solutions, something that is totally understandable seeing the size of both teams.

We start with the MINISFORUM NUCXI5. This model can mount an Intel Core i5-11400H processor, a chip that has a TDP of 45 watts and mounts a 6-core, 12-thread processor. It uses the Willow Cove architecture, it is manufactured in the 10nm SuperFin process and its performance is very good, both in single-thread and multi-thread. It is accompanied by a GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile.

We now jump to the MINISFORUM NUCXI7, a more powerful model than the previous one since it is configured with an Intel Core i7-11800H processor, which has 8 cores and 16 threads and maintains the same base as the previous one, that is, it uses the Willow Cove architecture. and is fabricated on the 10nm SuperFin node. Its graph is a powerful GeForce RTX 3070 Mobile.

Both teams join a 394 x 260 x 80 mm chassis, support up to 64 GB of RAM at a maximum of 3,200 MHz and have two M.2 slots for PCIe SSD drives. We can buy them configured or in a “barebone” variant that will not include RAM or storage, and obviously not the operating system.

The MINISFORUM NUCXI5 and MINISFORUM NUCXI7 have an HDMI output, a Thunderbolt 4 connector, three USB 3.2 Type-A ports, a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port, a 3.5 mm jack and a card reader. SD cards. If we opt for the version with SSD and RAM included, the operating system that will come pre-installed will be Windows 11 Pro. The prices have not yet transpired, so we have to wait.

Thanks to the support of NVIDIA Studio drivers we can use this equipment to play and to work. They are a good choice for designers, artists, and content creators.
