Indra’s consulting and information technology subsidiary, Minsait, has announced the purchase of Deuser, a company dedicated to operations technology in industrial digitization and which has a workforce of around a hundred professionals. Deuser has clients in the food and beverage, natural resources, automotive and energy sectors. The transaction is expected to close during the second quarter of 2023.
The purchase of Deuser fits into the field of activity that Minsait calls Phygital, that is, in connecting the physical and digital world to optimize infrastructures and generate sustainable impact. For Luis Abril, General Director of Minsait and Director of Indra«The operation places us as the leading technology company in Spain capable of offering its industrial clients a real IT/OT convergence (information technology and operating technology) in their digitization process. We have already seen in other sectors such as energy or telecommunications that this convergence has a huge growth path, and the same trend is beginning to show in the industrial sector.”.
This IT/OT convergence will have positive effects for Minsait clients in different areas. Among them are industrial security, the use of cloud computing and the acceleration of the entry of Artificial Intelligence tools in factories to detect failure patterns or the level of quality. Also to improve productivity.
Francisco Adame, CEO of Deuserhas highlighted that Minsait provides them «ability to scale, more opportunities for our team and the possibility of international growth. In addition, your corporate IT business perfectly complements our operational OT business. We have several common clients to whom we can now offer transformative convergence projects with the union of our capabilities, paving the way for a smarter and more sustainable, innovative and competitive industry.«.
For his part, Leo Benítez, Director of Phygital at Minsaithas recalled that «The traditional model in which information technologies went one way in the factory and operation technologies went the other has an expiration date, as all leading analysts have shown. The integration of Deuser will allow us to offer our IT clients in industrial environments a complete end-to-end service, from ERP and CRM to the industrial process control (PLC) elements of the manufacturing line. By combining capacities we can speak with ownership of SmartFactory or Industry 4.0”.
