MIUI 13: Xiaomi promises a smoother overlay suitable for tablets

Xiaomi will present tomorrow alongside the Xiaomi 12 its new MIUI 13 overlay, and has already unveiled most of the new features ahead of the launch. It promises to be much smoother than previous versions.

Xiaomi announced on the Weibo social network that the new version of its MIUI 13 overlay will focus on fluidity. Indeed, Xiaomi would have optimized its system applications, since these would be between 20% and 26% smoother than on MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. Third-party applications have not been forgotten, and these promise 15% to 52% higher performance.

As a reminder, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition is still being deployed, and this version had already greatly improved the fluidity and autonomy of the Chinese manufacturer’s smartphones. Xiaomi also revealed that MIUI 13 is going improve the security of users’ personal data, but has not yet released details on this.

Xiaomi will adapt MIUI 13 for its tablets

According to Xiaomi, the new MIUI 13 overlay will be particularly suitable for tablets. Indeed, Xiaomi announces that 3000 applications have been optimized to display correctly on large tablet screens, and multitasking has been improved. Indeed, it is now possible display several floating windows to browse several applications at the same time, whereas previously it was only possible to display one. So this is great news, since Xiaomi recently unveiled a new Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet.

The Chinese manufacturer also announces that the new liquid storage technology and the atomic memory of MIUI 13 will increase the longevity of your devices. Xiaomi claims thatafter 36 months of continuous use, read and write performance will degrade by less than 5%.

While waiting for tomorrow’s announcement, you can go and discover all the features of MIUI 13 that have already been spotted. According to Xiaomi, the Xiaomi 12 will be the first smartphones to use the new MIUI 13 overlay, but it could quickly be rolled out to other devices in 2021 such as the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11, and Redmi K40. However, it will probably be several months before it arrives in France, and it is possible that it will not be directly available when the Xiaomi 12 is released here.
