MIUI 13 focuses on improving performance

Let’s take a detailed look at the main new features of this new version of the manufacturer’s overlay. First, let’s talk about Liquid Storage. This is a brand new data storage management system. As Xiaomi explains, a device’s storage tends to become fragmented over the years and data writes and rewrites. Eventually, reading and writing speed is reduced (up to 50% according to tests carried out by Xiaomi).

This therefore results in slowdowns on the entire system, in particular to open applications. With Liquid Storage, fragmentation is reduced and thus prolongs the life of the devices. According to Xiaomi, Liquid Storage allows:

  • Improve read and write efficiency by 60%
  • Improve read and write speed, which retains up to 95% of its capacity after three years

Xiaomi then integrates Atomized Memorya “ultra-sophisticated memory management method”. The principle here remains simple: this feature analyzes the way in which applications use the RAM of your device. She then loads allocate RAM usage processes to tasks it considers important. All non-important tasks are closed to concentrate a maximum of RAM on essential tasks.

Better autonomy and easier multitasking thanks to the Sidebar

We find in Focus Algorithms the same idea of dynamically manage system resources. This function takes care of making MIUI smoother and more responsive. To do this, Focus Algorithms gives priority to the application you are currently using, so as to provide superior performance. Convenient especially for demanding applications such as video games. Let’s finish this performance improvement section with Smart Balance. This technology was designed to find a balance between performance and energy consumption. According to Xiaomi, this feature will extend overall battery life by an average of 10%.

MIUI 13 also plans to bring more customization options for users. One of the main new features is the addition of the Sidebar. As its name suggests, it is neither more nor less than a lateral bar from which you can Quickly access your favorite apps, without leaving the currently open app. According to the statements of the manufacturer, it will be possible to integrate up to 10 apps. Enough to greatly facilitate multitaskingan area central to the MIUI 13 experience visibly.
