Motorola is starting to talk about the arrival of a new Edge smartphone. It will be unveiled before the end of February.
Forget Samsung, Motorola wants to play spoilsport at the start of the year. The brand has just launched its G Stylus 2022 and could soon return with a new folding clamshell model. Until then, Motorola plans to present a new smartphone and gives an appointment for February 24th.
The manufacturer wonders if we are ready to discover his new device, without specifying whether he will settle for an announcement or organize an event. Little information has leaked about this smartphone from the Edge range, whose silhouette can be guessed from the image posted by Motorola on social networks. Rumors point to the launch of a high-end model, equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and a 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging. An OLED screen with a refresh rate of 144 Hz is even anticipated.

These features are reminiscent of those of the Edge X30 that Motorola launched in China. Presented in December, it was the first to integrate Qualcomm’s new high-end chip. On February 24, the manufacturer could have desires elsewhere and offer its smartphone internationally. It is not to be excluded that the device changes its name before joining our regions.
The other option concerns the possible arrival of a Motorola Edge 30 Pro, a model inspired by the X30 with some adjustments. As a reminder, Motorola is also expected in the premium segment later this year with the “Frontier 22”. This code name refers to an impressive model equipped with an OLED screen displaying in Full HD + at 144 Hz. The German sites TechnikNews and WinFuture mentioned its existence in January.
A smartphone with impressive features before the end of the year
Under the hood, the Frontier 22 would feature an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (SM8475) flanked by 8-12GB of RAM and 128-256GB of internal storage. This smartphone would be especially equipped with a triple photo module comprising a main sensor of 200 megapixels, an ultra wide-angle of 50 megapixels and a telephoto lens of 12 megapixels. On the front, we expect a 60-megapixel front camera.
Under Android 12, this model is expected with 125 W wired fast charging and 50 W wireless charging. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a few more months before discovering this smartphone.
