Mountain GLACIER is the new desktop workstation announced by the Spanish high-performance systems brand.
The biggest novelty of the new Mountain workstations is the possibility of configuring them on two different platforms, Intel or AMD, with Intel Xeon W3300 processors or the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3000WX, two powerful developments in number of cores, threads and working frequencies.
Mount 32 Gbytes of memory DDR4 with error correcting code and solid state drives NVMe PCIe 4.0 with very high throughputs, up to 7,200 Mbytes per second in sequential reads, in addition to having multiple 2.5 and 3.5-inch bays to expand storage capacity.
For the graphic section, Mountain offers NVIDIA professional graphics cards up to the RTX A6000, a development with the same cores of the most powerful chip on the consumer market, the GA102 of the RTX 3090, but in its full version to achieve a power of 38.7 TFLOPs in FP32 and with 48 GB of dedicated memory GDDR6 at 16 GHz.
In terms of connectivity, these machines include support for 10GBase-T Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet LAN; multiple USB ports including Type-C 3.2; a Wi-Fi module; those for the audio section and a 1000 watt 80 Plus Bronze power supply.
Mountain GLACIER is presented in an attractively designed tower made of aluminum, in two visual languages that the brand calls Quartz and Steel and with a side made of dark tempered glass. It also has liquid cooling systems to keep the temperatures of its powerful hardware under control.
The manufacturer focuses its use on professional performance in a multitude of fields, such as graphic design, 4K / 8K video editing / post-production, 2D / 3D modeling, calculation or engineering. They can pre-install Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating systems and are available on their website from 3,995 euros.
