NginRAT is a new parasite discovered by Sansec’s threat research team, which hides itself on Nginx servers in an attempt to mask its presence and bypass detection by security solutions.

Hackers exploit a Windows Installer exploit

A Windows Installer exploit is being used by hackers to try to execute arbitrary code on supposedly patched systems, according to the firm Cisco Talos, which detected samples of malware trying to exploit the vulnerability.

Tracked as CVE-2021-41379 and discovered by security researcher Abdelhamid Naceri, it is an elevation of privilege flaw that affects the Windows Installer software component.
