My PC hangs randomly, what’s going on?

Every time we sit in front of our computer, be it laptop or desktop, most of the time we seek to be as productive as possible. windows It is the most common operating system on these computers, which is why it plays a key role in our daily work with the PC.

Here we use both the system itself and the installed applications to carry out all kinds of tasks, both professional and related to leisure. However, something that most of us have been able to see first hand is that this set does not always work as well as we would like. Sometimes Microsoft software has certain operating problems that can spoil the experience of using the equipment.

Something more common than we might initially think is that our computer based on Windows suspends randomly every so often. There is no doubt that this is a serious drawback when it comes to working on a daily basis with the PC. That is why we are going to talk about a series of measures that you can take if you find yourself facing this problem on your Windows computer. The objective of all this will be to avoid those annoying random suspensions.

Change the power plan

In the event that your computer goes to sleep randomly, there is most likely a problem with the power plan settings. And it is that Windows allows you to customize the time after which the PC will go to sleep by itself. If it is configured in a very short time frame, the computer will automatically go to sleep when we least expect it.

To change this, right-click on the corresponding icon on the taskbar and go to Power Options. Here we will already have the opportunity to establish a higher time period.

Take advantage of the troubleshooter

The most recent versions of Windows put at our disposal a series of problem solvers to solve these failures automatically. There is one that refers specifically to the failures that we can find related to energy. We find this in the Settings application that we access through the Win + I key combination. Specifically in the Update and security / Troubleshoot section.

Update graphics drivers

Keep in mind that Windows is full of drivers or controllers that are in charge of communicating the operating system with our devices. One of the most important is related to the graphic section that we have installed on the computer. This means that if it is out of date or even damaged, it could result in these random suspensions that our computer suffers.

Therefore, to solve the failure we only have to access the Device administrator and look for the entry corresponding to the graphic section. Clicking with the right mouse button we can update the drivers corresponding to this component.

Remove the Windows screen saver

It is an element that has been with us for many years, we refer to the screensaver that Windows makes available to us by default. Some types of this element, when put into operation, can be confused with a suspension full operating system. Therefore, at this point, the best thing we can do is deactivate this functionality that is used less and less.

We also have the possibility of increasing the period until it is put into operation. We can do this again from the Settings application, specifically from the Personalization / Lock screen section.
