This Thursday (12), Netflix released the first official teaser of its new series based on the game “Resident Evil“. Named just “Resident Evil: The Series“, the production officially arrives for streaming in July 14th.
It is possible to see that the series will take place in two periods: 2022 and 2036. In both cases, the production will follow Jade in her move to Raccoon City and then the moment when the city is taken over by a deadly virus. .
Apparently, the only character in common with the games in the “Resident Evil” saga – apart from the zombies, of course – is Albert Wesker, Jade’s father.

The cast includes Lance Reddick (John Wick 3), Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl: The Secret World), Siena Agudong (Fast & Furious 9), Paola Nuñez (Bad Boys For Life), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Winter’s Tale) and Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels).

In March, Netflix released the teaser art and the Brazilian release date of the upcoming live-action series by resident Evil; day July 14th.

The first art features a test tube with what appears to be blood; both on yellow background shows a “joy” pill. The yellow backdrop with blood bubbles is reminiscent of one of Trentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill 2 posters.

With eight episodes, the show, according to the streaming giant, will have the “best of the DNA” of the popular Capcom game. That is, a lot of action in the battle for survival and, certainly, a great mystery to be unraveled and solved.
Netflix first announced the Resident Evil series in August of last year. The plot will be developed in two timelines: one with sisters Jade and Billie Wesker, when they move to New Racoon as teenagers, and another in the future, when they fight for their lives to survive on a planet ravaged by zombies.
