The 16-inch Acer Swift Edge has received a major update at the specification level. The Taiwanese company has opted for the new Ryzen 7040 APUs from AMD, a generation that uses processors with up to 8 cores and 16 threads based on the architecture Zen 4and that have integrated GPUs Radeon RDNA3 (up to a 780M).

In terms of power, we have an important leap, both at the CPU and GPU level, and thanks to the fact that both components are integrated into the same package, the new 16-inch Acer Swift Edge can remain a very light and thin device. Its starting weight is, according to Acer, only 1.2 kilogramsmaking it a full-fledged ultraportable.

The letter U that accompanies the nomenclature of these APUs confirms that we are dealing with the low-power versions, a totally understandable high taking into account the weight of this laptop and its dimensions (257.6 x 245.9 x 13 mm). The panel that Acer has used in this equipment has a size of 16 inches, it is OLED type and has a resolution of 3,200 x 2,000 pixels. Its refresh rate is 120 Hz, and it reproduces 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.

It will come equipped with a frontal webcam with QHD resolution, it will have Bluetooth 5.x connectivity and it will come with Windows 11 as a pre-installed operating system. The price of the base model will be 1,199 euros, and will be available from July.
