New call for public aid for 24 million to create Acelera SME offices

The public entity, Red.es, has opened a new call for aid to expand the network of Acelera SMEs offices throughout the national territory. The objective is to reach municipalities with populations of less than 20,000 inhabitants and there to promote the adoption of digital technologies by their SMEs, freelancers and entrepreneurs.

Accelera SME is a program that seeks to help them in their digital transformation and, with this, to the transformation of the economy and society towards a digital environment, contributing to the maintenance of the rural population in the context of the demographic challenge.

This is one of the measures framed in the Spain Digital 2025 Agenda and in the SMEs Digitization Plan that is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

24 million budget

The budget for the call is 23.8 million euros and the amount of aid for each of the offices ranges between 300,000 and 410,000 euros for two years, which represents 80% of the project budget.

The following may be eligible for aid: professional and business associations, professional associations, technology and technological innovation support centers, county councils, single-province autonomous communities, island councils and councils, and counties, municipal associations or other entities that group together several municipalities. Each applicant entity may submit a single project per territory, being able to present up to three projects for different territories.

The physical offices must be located in the territory in which the Acelera SME Office carries out its activity, and there may be more than one physical location of the office in different parts of the territory. Territory is understood as the physical space that comprises a province, except for the insular autonomous communities that have their own island council or council, for which territory is understood as the physical space that comprises each of the islands that make them up. The projects presented will be associated with the provision of services in the territory selected in the application.

All actions and services must be framed in promoting the process of incorporation of innovative technologies of the users of the actions. Actions or services that do not contribute to this objective will not be subsidized. In addition, Training actions will not be subsidized.

They must be a point both physical and virtual to resolve doubts to users in their digital transformation processes and to carry out awareness-raising and support actions in this area. In addition, they must keep a digitized record of the users of the services they offer and will provide advisory service to users in applying for national, regional and local aid for business development and digital transformation.

Entities interested in applying for these grants will have two months term to submit your request from the date of publication in the Official State Gazette and may do so through the form provided at the Electronic Headquarters of Red.es, where you can consult all the information.

The projects will be co-financed by funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism within the European Recovery Instrument (Next Generation EU), in accordance with the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

Almost 150 Accelera SME offices throughout the territory

This call contemplates the creation of about 50 new offices It accelerates SMEs, with a minimum of one office for each province and / or island and a maximum of two.

The new offices will join the 90 that make up the Acelera SME Branch Network that Red.es is being launched throughout the territory, and will involve a total of almost 150 offices that will support the digital transformation of SMEs, freelancers and entrepreneurs throughout Spain. This represents another step in the development of the strategic lines of the Spain Digital 2025 Agenda.

Advice and information on the Digital Kit Program

This Acelera SME Branch Network will also be in charge of advising and assisting small businesses, micro-businesses and the self-employed in everything related to the Digital Kit program procedures.

Kit Digital is a program of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, framed in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and was created to accompany SMEs and freelancers in their digital transformation process.

With a budget of more than 3,000 million euros, this program aims to promote the digitization of 1 million SMEs and self-employed workers, especially targeting small companies, micro-businesses and the self-employed.

The Acelera SME offices are a physical and virtual space in which awareness-raising and support work for Spanish companies (including newly created ones), especially small and medium-sized companies, freelancers and entrepreneurs, on the advantages and innovative methodologies to optimize the operation of their businesses, through the incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in their processes, so that the demand for innovative technologies that contribute to the improvement of their productivity is favored.

Subsidized projects include -among other actions- the start-up of the Acelera SME Office; the generation, dissemination and enhancement of content associated with the adoption of technologies and processes; actions to raise awareness and support SMEs on innovative methodologies and technologies, favoring their incorporation into their production and management processes; and advisory and support actions in the main areas of digital transformation. Also included are face-to-face actions that will be held in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants and at least 60% of the group activities proposed by the Acelera SME Office must be face-to-face or mixed, except for force majeure.
