New Mac mini based on Apple code in Apple Studio Display firmware

Mac mini at the event

If a few weeks ago Apple introduced the new Mac Studio, now it seems, according to rumors, that we could soon have a partner who would be a new Mac mini. Rumors already indicated that this year the American company was likely to launch a couple of Mac models, at least so Mark Gurman of Bloomberg said. It is possible then that this new rumor becomes a reality, especially since there is a fact that suggests that it will come true. It seems that this idea of a new Mac mini is inserted into the newly introduced code as an update on the Apple Studio Display.

According to developer Steve Troughton-Smith, in the firmware of the newly introduced Studio Display, there are references to a new Mac mini that is currently unknown. In the new firmware of the Studio Display, the one that some users were having problems starting, Apple places the name of a device under the code name, “Macmini 10.1” (which is a model that currently does not exist).

Logically, that code does not specify the shape or characteristics of that new Mac mini. But one thing is clear. This is not the first indication that is seen on this computer. Fonts don’t seem to agree on device layout: Jon Prosser thinks the Mac mini will have a new form factor design with a glass lid, an ultra-slim design, and plenty of ports. However, Ming-Chi Kuo believes that there will be no changes in this model, except inside with a new chip and others, but on the outside everything will be the same.

There is also no consensus on when we could see the presentation and launch of this new Mac. Some have already ventured to say that it is likely that in June, at WWDC, we can already have that new Mac. Others say that it is still too early considering that Mac Studio has just been launched. Who knows?
