The second season of the Truth Be Told series premiered on August 20. Every Friday, you will receive a new episode until the completion of the second season. Once released, Apple has begun promotional work through its YouTube channel where it has posted a new video that immerses us in this second season.
In this promotional video, the cast and crew of the series discuss the conflicts and struggles that are portrayed in the episodes that are part of the second season. Also featured in the video are executive producers Lauren Levy-Neustadter and Nichelle Tramble Spellman, who has also written the script for this second season.
This new video, titled Damaged, appears the protagonist Octavia Spencer (who is also one of the producers of the series), Kate Hudson (one of the incorporations in this second season), Christopher Backus, Alona Tal, Mekhi Phifer, David Lyons and Ron Cephas who speak of the motivations, emotions and intertwined relationships that drive the characters of the series.
Kate Hudson says that “everyone is dealing with something that they have in their life and that is holding them back or has held them back or that they are still struggling deeply with.” In this second season, Poppy (role played by Octavia Spenser) is reunited with her childhood friend, Micah (Kate Hudson) to help her investigate the murder of her husband.
The characters are forced to deal with trauma from the past and unearth secrets that put their friendship to the test as the season progresses. Truth Be Told, is produced by Hello Sunshine, Reese Witherspoon’s production company that was recently sold, although the actress and the rest of the owners continue to make the decisions.
