Night of the Cooters: here’s the teaser trailer for George RR Martin’s sci-fi western film with Vincent D’Onofrio

Maybe few people know but the creator of Game of Thrones, George RR Martin, recently worked on an adaptation of Howard Waldrop’s 1987 sci-fi western, Night of the Cooters, of which today we can admire a first teaser trailer.

The project stars Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio and tells the story of the citizens of Pachuco, Texas, in 1800 “Who gathered around a cause, survival against unwelcome visitors from“ up there ”.

Join the townspeople on their journey to understand what the hell is going on in the big hole on the edge of town. With a script by the only Joe Lansdale and music by prolific Ramin Djwadi, get ready for a journey like no other through the mind of the great Howard Waldrop.

The film was made in “Trioscope”, a technique that combines live-action performances with animation techniques and which we have already been able to admire in action with The Liberator, on Netflix.

“The post-production of the film is where the true aspect begins to reveal itself: how Trioscope makes the photograph frame by frame with the coloring and details of each shot” explained d’Onofrio on the occasion of the release of the teaser trailer for Night of the Cooters. “We are watching our film come to life.”

Trioscope CEO LC Crowley added: “Here at Trioscope, we have created a hybrid of animation and live-action drama that amplifies the best of both genres. Particularly important within the structure of a short film, our unique approach immediately transports and immerses the viewer in a new dramatic world, one that gives nuance to the performances of the actors and their characters. We are honored to partner with visionaries George RR Martin and Vincent D’Onofrio to bring their wild fantasies to life ”.
