Nintendo Switch Sports, the successor to Wii Sports is coming!

Long gone are the days when we turned on the Wii during family evenings, to challenge each other on games such as Wii Sports. A favorite of Nintendo fans, this game will soon be back in a completely redesigned and modernized edition for the firm’s latest generation console. Updates already planned

At launch, you will have access to six different sports disciplines: volleyball, football, bowling, tennis, chambara and badminton. In each of these sports, you will have to master the movements and the rules that will allow you to achieve victory. Of course, you can face an opponent in local mode, but also online thanks to the dedicated feature. To do this, you will need an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. Locally, the studio did not detail the maximum number of players.

If you think six sports isn’t enough, don’t worry! Nintendo plans to roll out two completely free updates by this summer and fall, dates yet to be determined, which should bring with them golf, and the ability to play football matches with a Joy-Con and a leg strap. The studio has not yet specified if there will be a sequel to the program or if it will stop there.

Price, release date and open test phase

Good news, it won’t be long before you can get your hands on it. Indeed, Nintendo Switch Sports will be available at the price of €39.99 from April 29. For those who like to test before you buy, mark these dates in your calendar: from February 19 to 20, the first Online Play Test will take place, allowing you to compete against opponents from all over the world.

This will also allow Nintendo to collect valuable data regarding the optimization of the title in its online mode, but also in relation to gameplay, graphical aspects, etc. at the exit, the title should only be better from the outset. To participate, note the opening hours of the test. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes and will cover the disciplines of bowling, tennis and chambara.
