no luck, the flagship may not be released in France this year

It’s a real blow for Oppo fans who were impatiently awaiting a new flagship in 2023, since a leaker announces that the Find X6 Pro, the company’s next smartphone, will not be released here.

We’ve been hearing about Oppo’s next high-end devices, the Find X6 and X6 Pro, for several months now. While Samsung, OnePlus, Honor and Xiaomi have already launched their smartphones at the start of the year, all eyes were on Oppo, which should probably announce the new generation on March 21if the latest rumors are to be believed.

However, just before the presentation, the Ice Universe leaker has just announced bad news on his Twitter account: le Find X6 Pro would not be launched outside of China after all. However, Oppo had never before decided not to market its most high-end smartphone in France, apart from foldable devices.

No Find X6 Pro in Europe, really?

The technical sheet of the Oppo Find X6 Pro was starting to make us dream. The smartphone will unsurprisingly be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, but Oppo will above all improve all the other aspects of the device. Like the OnePlus 11, we expected for example a 100W fast charging.

At the screen level, we know that the smartphone will use an AMOLED E6 QHD + panel (3168 x 1440 pixels) LTPO 4.0 120 Hz with a height between 6.8 and 6.9 inches. The latter will above all have the particularity of being the brightest ever offered on a smartphone, since it will reach about 2400 nits peak. In comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro officially tops out at 2000 nits (but can go a bit higher in some HDR situations), the Xiaomi 13 Pro promises 1900 nits and the Galaxy S23 Ultra “only” 1750 nits.

It is especially in photos that we were expecting the Find X6 Pro at the turn, since Oppo is preparing a major move upmarket with its partner Hasselbald. We will find 3 huge cameras on the back, including the 50 MP 1-inch IMX989 sensor, a 50 MP (1/1.56 inch) IMX890 ultra-wide-angle sensor as well as a 50 MP IMX890 periscope offering 3X optical zoom. With such a technical sheet and a Xiaomi 13 Ultra probably positioned at 1499 euros with us, we imagine that Oppo will have a hard time selling its Find X6 Pro at a similar price if it were to arrive with us.

Contacted by us, Oppo announces that no launch is planned for the moment in France, but does not refute the information. The tech giant would like to focus on its flip smartphone, the Find N2 Flip, for now. We will therefore probably know more after the launch of the Find X6 Pro in China at the end of the month. It also remains to be seen what will become of the classic Find X6.
