As we well know, Intel is gathering time, resources and units for its new GPUs for gaming and it seems that NVIDIA has clear plans for the blue giant. It seems like a large-scale offensive in a great presentation that will turn the sector upside down, to such an extent that Huang’s would be moving a tab in a key sector in sales such as laptops and would have two new GPUs prepared: RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti Mobile.
A rumor has been going around for several days and although it is not strong enough to make the news due to its limited base, today it has taken a new course and arguments to give it credibility, at least partial. There was talk of the supposed new RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti, but the specifications, chips and approach did not seem to be combined and of course, it was impossible from the PC point of view that they fit, mainly because they do not go for this sector, but for gaming laptops.

AMD and NVIDIA are fearing Intel, they are not taking it as a player who comes to compete at the bottom, but that it can give the bell to the point that it has already “eaten the toast” to those of Lisa Su in iGPU and the Red team now has to respond. In silence and without fuss and great presentations in style, but with an eye to each competitor, Intel’s options in low, medium and high-end graphics will come to notebooks.
Why do we know this? For Komachi’s tweet with the DEV of Xe Graphics models leaked with internal nomenclature DG2, where at the moment we do not know which one corresponds to. This leak was already on NVIDIA’s roadmap, because at the same time Intel’s DEVs were leaking a new green team ID was leaking with surprise under its belt.
This ID is 10DE: 24A0, which according to PCI Device DB corresponds to a new GPU with a GA104 chip that would correspond to the RTX 3070 Ti for Laptops and whose code name is encrypted in GN20-E6. The date of addition is from October 13, so NVIDIA already had for months its direct answer to the Intel Xe for the sector, which outsells the desktop PC 3 to 1.
Rumors of a double whammy for Intel and AMD
The blow can be masterful, since NVIDIA desktop pales in VRAM compared to AMD and in Intel laptops it would come very strong for its performance / watt. On desktop we could see two versions of RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti with more VRAM, while in laptops they would make their debut with an undisclosed amount of memory and with two chips modified for the occasion based on the named GA103 and GA104.
Most likely, NVIDIA will keep the amount of VRAM on these GPUs and push the number of Shaders. Here we enter the realm of speculation on our part, but we could be talking about 7,680 (60 SM) for RTX 3080 Ti and 5,632 Shaders (44 SM) for the RTX 3070 Ti. Although these numbers could vary they will not be far (if we do not get it right) in what NVIDIA would have prepared, since they cover the range in a better way and for efficiency and performance they would be a better option.
Do not forget the rumors that place the Intel DG2-512EU at the height of the GA102 chip. NVIDIA could deal a double blow to its rivals by covering the ground that it left at the time, the question is whether it will succeed and above all, at what price they will reach the market.
