Obi-Wan Kenobi: New details on the TV series see the Jedi being hunted by his former student

New details regarding the story of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Disney + TV series set in the Star Wars universe whose shooting began last April.

This information obviously pertains to the jedi played by Ewan McGregor and his former pupil, now devoted to the dark side, Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader interpreted by Hayden Christensen.

Darth Vader will hunt down his former master in Obi-Wan Kenobi

The report, coming from Making Star Wars reveals that Vader is sending the Inquisitors to find Kenobi, with Obi-Wan crossing his lightsaber with at least one of them:

In the series, Obi-Wan will fight at least one inquisitor. The lightsabers will be unsheathed and we will see Kenobi take on the Inquisitors in at least one episode of the TV series. It is not yet clear if this Jedi hunt will be the leitmotif of the entire show or will be limited to a few moments, however “Ben” will have to beware of the Imperial Inquisitor led by Darth Vader.

Who are the Star Wars Imperial Inquisitors?

The Inquisitors are a group of special Force-sensitive individuals formed by Emperor Palpatine in order to track down and eliminate the last remaining Jedi after Order 66. After the Great Jedi Purge, the Imperial Inquisitory will be tasked with recover all children identified as Force sensitive and annihilate political dissidents as well.

Obviously these information must be taken with pliers and must be considered as simple rumors even if they come from a usually very reliable source.

What we know about the show, besides the full cast of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, is that this will be set 10 years later. Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, covering the period in which Obi-Wan Kenobi watched over Darth Vader’s son (who will be played again by Hayden Christensen in the series); entrusted to him at the end of the prequel trilogy and conducted, as we know, on Tatooine.

The series is interpreted not only by the protagonist, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, but also by Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie .

Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul, American Gods, The Mandalorian) will direct the series and will also serve as showrunner, with Hossein Amini (Drive, McMafia) and Joby Harold (John Wick 3, Awake, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) writing the script. .

Obi-Wan Kenobi is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Chow, McGregor and Harold. The series will be shot using the same scenography technology used by the creators of The Mandalorian.
