Obi-Wan Kenobi is the next Disney+ series set in the Star Wars universe. Mickey’s firm has finally revealed its broadcast date: the first episode will be published on the platform on May 25, 2022. A date that was not chosen at random.
The Book of Boba Fett series has just ended. Disney is wasting no time and is already starting the promo for the next one. This is Obi-Wan Kenobi. We finally have its release date: it will arrive May 25. As usual, we will be entitled to one episode per week.
This date was announced soberly on Twitter. For the occasion, the official Star Wars account also unveiled the series poster. This is the first glimpse we have of her. The trailer should arrive shortly, we hope.

The date of May 25 was not chosen at random. It is indeed the day the very first Star Wars was released in the United States in 1977. A symbolic date for a series which will focus on a cult character from the saga, at the time already present on the screen in the guise of the late Alec Guinness. Obi-Wan Kenobi will narrate the fate of the character of the same name, here performed by Ewan McGregor. The Scottish actor had played him in the films of the prelogy (1999 – 2005), and here he is again in the bure of Jedi twenty years later.

The story will unfold ten years after Revenge of the Sith. Obi-Wan lives alone on Tatooine, watching over young Luke Skywalker from afar. We don’t know the plot details, but we do know that Hayden Christensen (Anakin Sywalker/Darth Vader in the prequel) will also be back.
Other Star Wars series are planned for this year. If we can bet on the broadcast of season 3 of The Mandalorian, we also hope to discover Andor with Diego Luna, a series that will tell the life of the rebel spy discovered in the film Rogue One.
For later, Disney is also planning a series on Ahsoka, Lando Calrissian, but also a mysterious project revolving around the Sith and named The Acolyte.
