Odyssey OLED G9, another of Samsung’s monitors for CES

The Odyssey OLED G9 is the other high-end monitor that Samsung Display has brought to CES 2023. And it’s almost as impressive as the Odyssey Neo G9 (2023) that we introduced to you yesterday.

The star of the show is a panel quantum dot OLED. Curved at an 1800R radius, it offers a massive 49-inch diagonal with 5120 x 1440 pixel native resolution in an ultra-wide 32:9 aspect ratio.

To say that in this type of OLED screens, each pixel is illuminated separately without depending on the backlight, which allows a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1 while offering RGB and true blacks without color filters and with a outstanding image quality typical of OLED. The monitor supports Display HDR True Black 400. These VESA ‘True Black’ versions enable black levels up to 100 times deeper than typical HDR, plus greater dynamic range.

The focus on games (although it can be used for any type of task) we see in the support for AMD FreeSync Premium image synchronization technology and we assume that it will also be compatible with NVIDIA’s G-Sync. Your update frequency 240hz It is the highest on the market in terms of its resolution and an absolutely minimum response time of 0.1 milliseconds.

It has mini Display Port inputs (it is not mentioned if it is the new version 2.1), in addition to HDMI 2.1 and a USB port hub with charging of peripherals through USB Type-C of up to 65 watts.

The monitor can also be used to work independently without having to be connected to a PC. With an Internet connection and thanks to the Samsung Smart Hub service, you can enjoy multimedia content from services such as Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube. It also supports Samsung’s gaming service, Gaming Hub, an all-in-one streaming platform that allows gamers to play games from the Xbox or NVIDIA GeForce Now platforms.

Another spectacular Samsung monitor for which no price or availability has been provided. If you are interested, go saving because it will not be cheap.
