Official OnePlus Nord Watch: a low-cost activity bracelet with an OLED screen

After several rumors and leaks about it, OnePlus’ next connected watch, the OnePlus Nord Watch, is now official. Indeed, this strap resembling Apple Watch SE is on sale on the manufacturer’s Indian store. The opportunity for us to discover its technical characteristics.

We have known for several months now that OnePlus was preparing to launch a new connected watch called OnePlus Nord Watch. The firm had also mistakenly mentioned its existence on its site in April 2022, before withdrawing the unfortunate publication.

It was not until September 2022 that the brand’s Indian site began to officially teaser the existence of this entry-mid-range connected watch. Indeed, the Chinese manufacturer had published some images of the OnePlus Nord Watch, suggesting a design rather close to that of an Apple Watch SE.

However, the connected watch is now available for sale on the Indian store of the manufacturer. The opportunity for us and the users to discover in detail the technical specificities of the device.

OnePlus Nord Watch: a cheap connected bracelet with OLED screen

First of all, the OnePlus Nord Watch has a 1.78″ OLED display with a maximum resolution of 368 x 448 pixels (326 PPI) and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The panel offers a maximum brightness of 500 cd/m2 and has a body/screen ratio of 70.7%. This therefore confirms the presence of rather prominent edges.

If you like the look of the Apple Watch SE, you are on familiar ground here since the design of the OnePlus Nord Watch is very similar to that of the Apple brand watch. With the exception, however, of zinc alloy and plastic body and silicone strap. OnePlus’ connected tocante is certified IP68that is to say that it is protected against water and dust.

If you have to do without a GPS (unless you connect the watch in Bluetooth 5.2 to your smartphone), the OnePlus Nord Watch compensates for this pitfall by offering a month of autonomy in one charge via its battery of 230mAh. Be careful though, OnePlus only promises 10 days of autonomy in case of regular use for monitoring your sports activities.

On this subject, the watch will be able to follow your performance in more than 105 sportsand it packs the classic health-tracking arsenal like a heart rate sensor, an SpO2 monitor, monitoring the quality of sleep or the menstrual cycle. Two colors will be available, namely: dark blue and black.

At the moment we do not yet have the price and the European release date. In India, the OnePlus Nord Watch is displayed at launch at 4999 Indian rupees, or 62 euros before tax after conversion. In other words, there is a good chance that it will be proposed under the 100 € mark in France.
