Han Solo is one of the main characters in Star Wars since the premiere of the first film in 1977 although, to tell the truth, its true relevance did not come until the premiere in 2015 of The Force Awakenswhen the new story arc devised by JJ Abrams decided that the lineage of the old smuggler was going to have a direct impact on the fate of the Galaxy.
That is something that, moreover, is not reflected in the official film that was released in 2018 and that it was not very well received despite being a project sponsored by one of the most renowned Hollywood screenwriters of the last 40 years. Neither more nor less than Lawrence Kasdan (and his son) was in charge of telling us everything we didn’t know about Han Solo until practically the beginning of Star Wars.
More life inside inside the comic world
like good product starwarsHan Solo does not live alone in the movies and has starred in numerous comics in which he has appeared as one of the key characters of that universe but, also, as a true center of attention in the role of the protagonist of series such as those of War of the Bounty Hunters by Charles Soule, who found a way to bring back an old movie character like Qi’ra (his great love, played by Emilia Clarke in the movies), although nothing compared to what he reveals to us another collection such as Han Solo & Chewbaccaby Marc Guggenheim and David Messina.
That last tome of Han Solo’s adventures is, to put it quickly, the best form fans of the Han Solo character will ever get. know the events that should have been narrated in a supposed continuation of that first film, so if you want to satisfy your curiosity, all you have to do is go to its pages to clear up any doubts about how the smuggler, bandit and cheeky man continues his particular battle against an Empire that extends its tentacles throughout the Galaxy.
But there is something else…
But in that new volume of Han Solo & Chewbacca There is one last gift for fans of the character and it is none other than to see how his relationship with Corellia, his home planet, continues to be, the one from which we see him escape in the Ron Howard movie. It will be in that environment when (and watch out, SPOILERS are coming) we verify that resting in a bar start talking to a veteran with which soon to ramble and remember the old days of building large ships and boats in space shipyards. Ovan, that is his name, soon realizes that who he is talking to is his son HanHanSolo.
This reveal comes amid a change in the character’s canon, which seems to have left behind legends in which his father was known by the name of Jonash, so having seen what we have seen, we will have to take as important what the new volume of Han Solo & Chewbacca. Or maybe we will see a new change again? We will see…
