During these days we have tested the latest flagship of OnePlus, the 10 Pro. This time OnePlus renounces splitting and if you want its top of the range you will not have it decaffeinated, but with all its power in the Pro version. It is difficult to innovate and make a difference in a top of the range, but in OnePlus they are not very complicated either. , while other brands focus on their phones having unbelievable properties, such as bending or stretching, OnePlus only seeks that what it was already doing, it now does better.

To find a difference with respect to the previous version, we will have to turn the mobile over and we will be surprised by its matte body that no longer shines or slips. Even so, a case never hurts and true to good habits, since you are going to spend €909 in the 8GB/128GB version and €999 in the 12GB/256GB version, OnePlus includes a basic case in the box. As I mentioned, turning it over the three lenses and the flash will draw powerful attention They take up more than half the width of the phone. The part where the cameras are located protrudes slightly and here we will see polished plastic to frame them, in addition to the Hasselblad signature.
It keeps the rocket button on the right to modify the sound of the mobile, the lock button just below and the volume button on the left. There is only one external USB-C connection, as has become the norm for most smartphones. The screen has curved edges that greatly facilitate navigation using Android gestures.
It is also reiterated not to pay for the IP68 certificate, although due to its construction the OnePlus 10 Pro is waterproof, the only thing that since it is not registered is not covered by any guarantee.
What amazes me most about this brand is that they are able to outperform each screen of each new version. In this case, the OnePlus 10 Pro mounts a panel of 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED and resolution QHD+ benefiting from enhanced LTPO technology, which allows the device to quickly adjust its refresh rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz depending on the type of content being viewed. A function that, added to Dual Color Calibration, calibrated at two brightness levels of 500 nits and 100 nits to obtain 50% more color accuracy, it will offer us a unique experience when playing any type of multimedia content.
At first glance, they might seem the same characteristics as those of the OnePlus 9 Pro, but we must pay attention that the LTPO technology is improved and that it adjusts to the content reproduced and in the dual color calibration that makes it possible that if we put it side by side 9 Pro, this looks like a 2014 phone to us. The adaptive refresh rate also results in better battery use, I don’t need 120hz if I’m watching memes on Twitter, so the OnePlus 10 Pro lowers the resolution and in this way save battery for more intense tasks.
We also remember that OnePlus gives the possibility to calibrate the brightness to our liking, being able to put it in DCI-P3 and a Natural mode calibrated in sRGBwith the option of a Pro mode that only allows us to change the white balance of the panel.
Once again the company has wanted to make its camera system one of the main axes, re-collaborating with Hasselblad to support OnePlus Billion Color Solution which enables Hasselblad Natural Color Calibration to be applied to over a billion colors. Additionally, thanks to Hasselblad Pro mode, the OnePlus 10 Pro supports 12-bit RAW capture on all three rear cameras, complete with Hasselblad Natural Color Solution for Mobile. On the other hand, we will also have the new video mode that will allow us to adjust parameters such as ISO, shutter speed and white balance before and during recording. In general, features and control worthy of professional photography.
And it is not for less, since the OnePlus 10 Pro comes equipped with a 48-megapixel OIS main cameraaccompanied by an 8-megapixel OIS telephoto camera, and a new 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera offering a 150-degree field of view.
It repeats the same main sensor and lens, changes its ultra wide angle for a more modern one, but smaller, and repeat telephoto. OnePlus has not wanted to make a leap in photographic hardware, in fact they have removed the monochrome lens that they included in the OnePlus 8, so everything remains in the hands of the defendant. Where if there is a leap in height is in the front camera that becomes 32 MP, ideal for recording story times.
If we focus on the software, it has changed slightly compared to the previous version. The top menu has been reduced and from there it has three shortcuts that allow us to select HDR, artificial intelligence or size. If we give the three dots we can modify more options such as putting a grid, putting the 10-bit color or activating the HEIF mode to share photos while preserving their quality.
The beauty filter is no longer modified by choosing the level, now it remains in the most complete option that allows us to modify specific aspects of the face or leave it in a filter that only softens the skin.
At the bottom of the screen we will have the different shooting modes: night, video, photo and more. Here we will find the rest of the options: pro, panoramic, movie… if the organization that OnePlus has made by default does not convince us, we can edit it and put what we use the most as a direct access.
Battery and performance
In order to make a personal assessment beyond figures and specifications, I wanted to use the OnePlus 10 Pro as my main phone for a week and check if it is capable of coping with constant use of social networks and photography and responds with total solvency, reaching end of the day with battery for one more day. Its large 5,000 mAh battery It is compatible with the brand’s fastest wired charging speeds, which, according to OnePlus itself, will be able to charge from 1 to 100% in just 47 minutes thanks to the included 50W AIRVOOC charger. Also, if we use the wireless charger, it can be charged vertically and horizontally, very useful if we want to leave it on the stand while we watch some content.
In terms of performance, the OnePlus 10 Pro mounts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen it will be hard to find something you can’t. Although the OnePlus 10 Pro is also equipped with a series of new gaming features that are made possible by the HyperBoost game engine that comes pre-installed along with its OxygenOS 12.1 operating system (based on Android 12), whose overall user experience includes a design simple and new features focused on work, rest and gaming.
If we focus on more specific aspects such as biometrics, the OnePlus 10 Pro incorporates a fast and reliable fingerprint reader on the screen and facial recognition.
Software: OxygenOS 12
Finally, another of the great stars of OnePlus, its layer on Android called OxygenOS that this time covers the latest version of Android, android 12. The latest OxygenOS update comes after the merger of OnePlus with OPPO after which both codes are taken from the same source and incorporate the same improvements. They change the appearance of the icons, the textures are softened and the lines become geometric with the sole objective of offering a better interaction with the phone that reduces stress and makes it more intuitive.
We have not noticed that Zen aspiration that OnePlus intends with the description of its operating system, but it does seem to us to be a comfortable operating system with neat lines. OnePlus has also incorporated three modes that enhance the main uses of a smartphone: work, rest and playback. In this sense, Oxygen OS allows us to choose a notification mode depending on the time of day or the day we are using the phone, that is, if we are on vacation, during working hours or outside of our day, thus it will activate some notifications and deactivate others.
The search bar is no longer just for searching the Internet, we can also access any of our applications from there, shortening paths and facilitating the search. They have also integrated what they call shelf (Shelf) This is a section with phone information and quick access to some tools. This space is also configurable to taste through Widgets. Those of us who don’t want them to take up space on our mobile screens can leave them on the Shelf. They have also improved the dark mode by adding three levels of darkness.
It is difficult for me to elaborate on the conclusions of the OnePlus 10 Pro. For me it is a perfectly balanced phone capable of giving everything of itself, a perfect all-rounder capable of withstanding hours of work, as long as our work can be done from the phone.
It borders on perfection in every way, with performance, screen and battery being its main strengths. We can focus on a single aspect and demand maximum perfection and we will find fault with it, for example, the cameras are not impeccable and the operating system still has to polish some details. But despite all the OnePlus looks in the eyes of any other flagship.
OnePlus 10 Pro is available in the Spanish market in various configurations, such as this one with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage for a price of €999.
The mobile you need if you are looking for excessive power with control.
