OneXPlayer Mini takes on the Steam Deck with a new Ryzen-powered model

The new model of the OneXPlayer Mini portable console with Ryzen is now available for reservation in the international market. It will begin to be distributed on April 20 for a price of $999.

The gaming handheld segment has been buoyed by the arrival of Valve’s Steam Deck. And specialists like the Chinese manufacturer One-Notebook have taken advantage of it to launch new developments like OneXPlayer Mini, a variant that precisely reduced its screen size to that used by Valve’s machine, 7 inchesmuch more manageable and transportable than the previous one with dimensions of 262 x 108 x 23 mm and a weight of 589 grams.

This machine was originally marketed with a hardware base in charge of the eleventh generation Intel Tiger Lake processors, but the company has already announced that it would market a version with AMD hardware (another nod to focus the competition on the Steam Deck) that arrives now and specifically with a CPU Ryzen 7 5800Ua very interesting development for this model with its 8 cores and 16 threads, and Radeon Vega 8 graphics.

The screen has remained at the aforementioned 7 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Its design is also the same as the Intel model, with a touch screen surrounded by game controllers, stereo front speakers and keys to activate the on-screen keyboard and the turbo mode function. The controllers for games, joysticks and linear buttons will sound like those of the Xbox and the fact is that the console is “inspired” by the Microsoft controller, one of the best on the market, in a well-resolved ergonomic design.

Price and availability

The OneXPlayer Mini with Ryzen ships with Windows pre-installed in a major departure from the Steam Deck’s Linux-based Steam OS. However, the most deciding factor for many is probably the price. While the Steam Deck starts at 419 euros (with 64 GB of eMMC storage) and its maximum configuration costs 679 euros, buying the Chinese console will cost a minimum of $999. Of course, with PCIe SSD and a higher hardware configuration.

It can now be reserved on its web portal for international sale and will begin shipping from April 20.
