Our readers say: RDNA 3 or Ada Lovelace, who has won the game?

This year has left us very important moments in the technology sector. The arrival of the Raptor Lake-S and Ryzen 7000 processors have been two of the most relevant, but we must not forget the new graphics generations from NVIDIA and AMD. Talking about RDNA 3 or Ada Lovelace is referring to the two most advanced architectures that exist today, but which one is superior and why?

That is the question with which we open this new article focused on you, our readers, and as always I am going to get wet first. The truth is that with the Raptor Lake-S and Ryzen 7000 I think there is a much more balanced combatand that both are in a very good position, something that certainly benefits us all, since it has given rise to a price war that allows us to buy a high-performance and next-generation processor for a reasonable price.

In the case of graphic architectures I have it quite clear too. Having to choose between RDNA 3 or Ada Lovelace leads me directly to give NVIDIA as the winnerand my reasons are very simple:

  • It represents a huge improvement in raw performance.
  • It also marks a major leap in terms of efficiency.
  • It’s a very cool architecture, even in its top-of-the-line designs.
  • It continues to lead in ray tracing, and by a wide gap.
  • It remains the rival to beat and leads in innovation, thanks to DLSS 3 and frame generation.

AMD has managed to improve raw performance and efficiency with RDNA3, and has also been able to move up a notch in ray tracing, but said architecture has not met expectationsneither in power nor in efficiency, and in fact it is having some important problems that are being tried to play down for some reason that I do not quite understand.

It is good that there is competition, and of course we need a strong AMD, but this does not change the fact that RDNA3 has been a watered-down architecture, a kind of want and can’t with lights and shadows that leaves us halfway. I really want to see a graphics generation from AMD that manages to surpass NVIDIA in every wayLet’s see if with RDNA4 he can do it.

Now it’s your turn, RDNA 3 or Ada Lovelace? We read in the comments.
