The Xbox & Bethesda conference was particularly generous with announcements. The manufacturer has notably unveiled the release date of a highly anticipated FPS, namely Overwatch 2! Indeed, the sequel to the competitive and emblematic shooter from Blizzard will land in early access in October 2022. The appointment is made!
Xbox and publisher Bethesda have made an appointment with players this Sunday evening for a new conference dedicated to future releases on Xbox and Xbox Series consoles, on PC and on Xbox Game Pass. Suffice to say that the event was particularly rich in announcements, with no less than 50 games presented!
Among them, obviously heavyweights like the new Forza Motorsport, RedFall by Arkane Austin, A Plague Tale Requiem, the long-awaited Diablo IV or the mysterious Starfield. About it, Bethesda has finally unveiled the first gameplay images of the space RPG, and the experience promises to be completely crazy!
Overwatch 2 is coming to free-to-play in October 2022
Among the major announcements, there is also a focus on a certain Overwatch 2! Indeed, Blizzard’s iconic FPS will return from October 2022 in early access. And noteworthy, the game will be totally free. Finally, the publisher therefore opted for the Free-To-Play formula to give the competitive shooter every chance.
We suspect that players will therefore be able to take out the credit card to access a season pass to unlock various cosmetic elements, like outfits, emotes, weapon skins, etc. The short trailer released by Bethesda does not reveal much about the title.
A brand new character is coming to Overwatch 2
Nevertheless, players were able to discover a brand new hero, a tank called Jungler Queen. Armed with her formidable axe, she will notably be able to rush several meters by spinning her bladed weapon, while she can rely on her pistol for ranged combat. This is the second announced character that has not yet been tested by players during the beta phases.
Whatever, the game seems to have lost nothing in dynamism, with particularly mobile characters capable of soaring through the air to gain the advantage over their opponents. Anyway, the appointment is made in October 2022 to discover Overwatch 2, without spending a cent moreover.
