The demand for gaming headphones does not stop growing, since they offer an excellent balance of benefits between great sound quality and the convenience of having a built-in microphone to use it in voice chats while we play. The Ozone Heat X30 is halfway between a take-anywhere in-ear headset and a bulky gaming headset, offering the best of both worlds.
The Ozone Heat X30 use a dual speaker system just like the Dual FX. Each speaker is 6mm, so by having two, we have a practical size of 12mm, which improves the quality and body of the sound. Are compatible with PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch, laptops, desktops, tablets and mobiles. Basically anything with a 3.5mm jack.
As for microphones, we have two. The first is included in the headphone cable controls area. But the second is removable, and connects with a jack connector present on the left earphone, offering a better sensitivity compared to the one incorporated in the cable, as well as the option to ensure that the quality is going to be the best when being closer. from the mouth.
Unboxing and external analysis
The box has a transparent design on the back that allows us to see the headphones, the cable control, and the microphone. If we open the box, we see everything that it includes, with an adapter to divide the microphone connector and that of the stereo audio input, very useful to use for example on the computer, where these connectors are normally divided, both on the front of the boxes as in the sound cards of the motherboards.
We also found three packs of silicone pads in sizes S, M and L. The review unit did not include them, but the final version that we can buy does include them, so don’t worry about that. The pad that comes pre-applied is the size M.
If we go to the cable, we find several buttons. The round button at the bottom has several functions: if we press once, it picks up or hangs up the call, or pauses the music. If we press twice, it will switch to the next song. If we press three times, it will return to the previous song. The slider above it is intended to mute the microphone, which is positioned just above it. Finally, we have the slider to control the volume.
If we go to the headphones themselves, we have that curious dual design that makes them look like an alien. At first glance they may look somewhat large, but then when placed on the ears they do not feel heavy at all. Furthermore, the plastic outer part is practically empty and very light.
The headphones have the jack connector angled at 45 degrees, helping to reduce the stress on that part of the cable. The connector fits perfectly in all types of devices.
The microphone connector is a simple 2.5 mm jack, as we can see in the following two images:
As we said before, using this type of headphones is quite comfortable if we are going to be playing for hours; mostly in summer. Thanks to them, we do not have to have headphones over our head at all times, in addition to isolating ourselves from ambient noise and focusing better on the game.
The headphones have excellent sound quality. The frequencies do not step on each other, so we can clearly hear all the action, where for example an explosion will not prevent us from hearing the enemies clearly. In fact, in this type of headphones we can hear more clearly the frequencies of the footsteps of the enemies and the like.
Thus, all frequencies are heard quite clearly, although perhaps they could have had a wider frequency response like the Dual FX have. Its use for hours is very comfortable, where with some pads according to our size, the headphones will not come out while playing even while we are walking on the street. In addition, the isolation from ambient noise is very good and will help us to better concentrate on the sounds of the game.
When playing games, the positioning of the enemies is excellent, being able to perfectly guess where the sounds are coming from, and distinguishing themselves in a clearer and more direct way as the sound is directly inside our ear canal.
As for the buttons, we have enough flexibility to control all the elements of the multimedia content playback. To control the volume, we once again have a fader like in the Dual FX, of which I am not a big fan in particular, since there can be changes in volume if we run or accidentally brush the fader.
Also, I don’t know if it was designed like this on purpose, but when you put the headphones on, the cable driver sticks to your chest instead of facing outward. Therefore, when using it for running we have a greater risk of those sudden volume changes, even more than in the Dual FX because this volume slider has a small notch that makes it easier to slide it.
The microphone is heard quite clearly, similar to other gaming headsets. Next, you can listen to a sound test recorded with them, where we do not have to adjust the gain so that we can be heard clearly as it happens with other headphones that only have the microphone on the cable.
The versatility of these headphones is excellent, since they are not only valid for the PC or the console, but we can also take them with us to use them outside the home with the mobile, and that is quite difficult to find in the market, where We usually need two headphones for this: a headset to play at home, and then a headset for the street. If we choose this type of headphones, we will be saving money.
The Ozone Heat X30 are excellent headphones to use for all kinds of daily activities, from listening to music or podcasts on the street or playing sports, to using them to play at home on the PC or console. Its versatility will help us save money, since we will not have to spend money on having several headphones at home; especially if there is a lot of ambient noise in our home. Its sound quality is excellent, with powerful bass with a lot of body, and an excellent precision of treble and mids that will allow us to position enemies with great ease.
Among the only drawbacks that we can find we have that a transport case is not included, something that did include, for example, the previous Dual FX and that cost half that these. However, we can always get a case of this type for just over a euro in Chinese stores, although it would have been nice if it was included. The volume slider is something that we hope they will change for future designs, as well as that the volume controller is always facing outwards.
For this reason, the Ozone Heat X30 receive our gold medal.
