PASS Restaurant and PASS Transportation users can now order the virtual card

Sodexo Benefits and Incentives has already launched a card for the services of PASS Restaurant and PASS Transportation. Thanks to them, the company offers its customers a higher level of customization so that they can choose the format that best suits their needs (physical or digital card). The new digital card will be activated and managed exclusively through the mobile, providing a totally virtual and contactless experience.

Likewise, this new format responds to the company’s commitment to advance in its digital transformation process and its clear commitment to sustainability, one of the strategic lines of the company’s “Better Tomorrow 2025” social responsibility plan.

On the other hand, requesting the new virtual card is an agile and simple process, both for users and for companies. When the card is not physically issuedcompanies save the logistics process associated with the production and sending of the same and, in turn, the employees gain immediacy, by dispensing with the sending, since they will be able to receive it on their mobile in just 24 hours.

As a consequence of this logistical simplification, this new format has a positive impact on the environment, since it allows the saving of 1.7 tons of plastic used in the manufacture of traditional physical cards and, as well as, a reduction of C02 emissions produced by their production and transport. In addition, it offers companies the possibility of positioning themselves as sustainable since, by opting for this digital system, they demonstrate their clear commitment to the environment.

As for its use, it is equally simple since, as with the current physical card, it can be fully managed from the Sodexo App UK (activation, blocking, checking balance and movements, searching for establishments); It allows linking to all user devices through the use of NFC technology and is not unrelated to the reality of cybersecurity problems, since it adds a security reinforcement thanks to the double authentication factor.

Mobile payment

As is currently the case with Sodexo’s physical cards, the new digital card allows mobile payment to avoid user contact with other objects or people, a growing demand from society, especially as a result of the pandemic, which has increased mobile phone use significantly to centralize payments. In fact, according to the ODF-Funcas barometer, at the end of 2020 the percentage of the Spanish population that had made a payment with a mobile phone was already estimated at 63% and Spain is already the third country in Europe in contactless payments . In addition, the new card is also compatible with the usual payment tools, Google Pay and Apple Pay, and with the delivery platforms, thus facilitating the payment of the daily menu for users who are in the office or teleworking.

This digitization of Sodexo cards means going one step further in improving the mobile experience, since all payments will be articulated through the wallets of users without the need for a physical card.

These advantages are added to those already existing for the PASS Restaurant service, exempt from IRPF of up to 11 euros per day allowing savings of up to month month per year on meals thanks to its personal income tax exemption of up to €11 per day (€220/month) and TRANSPORTATION PASS, which has a tax exemption of up to €1,500 per year, which represents savings of up to 3 months a year in transport.
