Peacemaker is described as an action-adventure comedy that “He will explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.”
When discussing the series earlier, Gunn stated: “Peacemaker is an opportunity to delve into the world’s current problems through the lens of this superhero / supervillain / and the world’s greatest idiot. I’m thrilled to expand The Suicide Squad and bring this character from the DC cinematic universe to a whole series. And, of course, being able to work with John, Peter and my friends at Warner Bros. again is the icing on the cake. “
The series will also see in the cast also Steve Agee as Economos, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilant And Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith.
Gunn wrote the Peacemaker series and directed five episodes. The show’s first season will debut January 13, 2022 on HBO Max.
