The CEO of Apple, Tim cook, met with Pedro Sánchez, the President of the Government of Spain, at Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino last week. The CEO and the president discussed “digital transformation” among other topics during the meeting, as the Spanish politician later explained.

Sánchez published in his official count Twitter who had one with the CEO of Apple. The two reportedly discussed the Recovery Plan, an investment project by the Government of Spain in its economy to help the recovery from the pandemic of the COVID-19.

Productive meeting with Tim Cook in Cupertino. Spain knows that digital transformation is a priority and the Recovery Plan offers us a unique opportunity to face this challenge. There is no better occasion for large technology companies like Apple to invest in our country.

Sánchez is visiting the US to promote Spanish companies and address the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines, among other state affairs. During his trip he has also met with executives from Bank of America, Morgan stanley Y Blackstone.

It is customary for Cook to meet regularly with senior political officials during his tenure as Apple CEO, although these meetings stopped being held due to the happy pandemic. It seems that little by little we return to normality.
