While Pixel 6 and 6 Pro owners have already had to deal with countless bugs since launch, it now looks like the devices are suffering from a new display issue. After some screens cracked for no apparent reason after a few days of users, users are now reporting that dead pixels appear around the front camera.

Many users are reporting on social media that their Pixel 6 and 6 Pro screen is now riddled with dead pixels, especially the area around the front camera. In some cases, dead pixels do not appear around the selfie camera, but in the corners of the screen. Most claim, however, that the smartphone has not fallen and has not been updated recently, which could indicate that it is a hardware problem.

Complaints about the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro screen are increasing

It seems that this problem is not new, since some users had already mentioned it as early as the end of 2021 on the Google help forums. While users claim that the problem only got worse over timesince the black zone widened steadily, others say the issue was eventually fixed with an update.

However, the fact that new users are again faced with the same problem when the smartphone has already received a large number of updates could suggest that it is a problem with the slab, and not a software problem. If you are having the same problem, it seems that Google agrees to repair the phone for free if it’s still under warranty.

However, know that you can now also repair your Pixel smartphone yourself with original parts thanks to iFixit. We hope that Google will quickly identify the problem and fix it for the next generation of its smartphones, especially since we know that the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro should recycle the screen of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
