Google has started rolling out a new update to its high-end Pixel 6 and 6 Pro smartphones. The patch should fix a few bugs, including one that prevented the phone from vibrating properly when you received a notification.

After a rather chaotic launch, Google is trying to fix bugs in its Pixel 6 by rolling out a new update every month. The March update had brought the most new features, while the new April version notably fixed a bug that made the camera screen all green.

This month there are only three patches. Pixel 6 will receive improved haptic feedback under certain conditions and use cases. Additionally, all devices will receive a fix for an issue that caused the screen to wake up without any interaction and a fix for an issue that caused the launcher to freeze after restarting the device.

Pixel 6 and 6 Pro should finally vibrate properly

For several weeks now, some Pixel users have been complaining on Google forums about vibrations being too low when receiving notifications. Thanks to this new update, several users have confirmed on social networks that vibrations were now much stronger when set to maximum.

On the security side, the patch resolves a total of 14 flaws, and the vulnerabilities range from moderate to critical. The most famous flaw, known as the “Dirty Pipe”, now gets a fix on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. This allowed an attacker to take full control of a Linux-based device, including Chromebooks and Android devices.

Seeing Google working to fix all the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro bugs is good news, which should encourage more customers to turn to smartphones. According to Google, the Pixel 6 is also breaking all sales records, despite contradictory figures which announced that operators were having a lot of trouble selling it. Either way, all eyes are now on Pxiel 6a, which could arrive later this month at the annual Google I/O conference.
