Pixel 7 and 7 Pro: Google should not raise prices compared to Pixel 6

A few days before the official presentation of the next high-end smartphones from Google, a leak has just revealed the prices of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. The good news is that Google doesn’t seem to have given in to the price increases.

On Twitter, @ArtemR unveiled two images that reveal the next two high-end smartphones from Google, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, referenced in the Target brand system in the United States. The pictures confirm that the two devices are well planned in three different colors, and we now know more about their rates.

Unlike Apple, which had significantly increased the prices of its iPhone 14s at the beginning of the month compared to the previous iPhone 13s, Google would not have planned any increase in prices on its new models.

What prices for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro?

According to the author’s source at Target, Pixel 7 will start at $599 in three colors: Snow, Obsidian and Lemongrass. On his side, the Pixel 7 Pro will be available from $899, always in three colors: Obsidian, Hazel and Snow. As you may have noticed, these are the same prices as the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro last year.

We imagine that Google was able to save money on its new Tensor G2 chip, which does not look revolutionary in any way. However, we do know that Google will launch slightly more expensive versions of its smartphones this year with 256 GB of storage, a first for Pixel devices.

Despite the identical prices across the Atlantic, it is not impossible that Google will slightly increase its prices with us because of the current geopolitical situation, and especially the euro-dollar parity. As a reminder, the Pixel 6 was marketed from 649 euros with us, while the Pixel 6 Pro was positioned at 899 euros.

We will know more during the official presentation of the smartphones, which will be held on October 6th. The devices will all be offered for pre-order immediately, then these will arrive in stores on October 18, 2022. Nevertheless, the same source at Target announces that the release could take place as early as October 13.
