The new PlayStation Plus is just around the corner. Several weeks after the announcement, Sony has just officially unveiled the launch date of its new offer. The formula will be available from June 22, 2022 in Europe, particularly in France. This is the last continent to enjoy next-gen PlayStation Plus.
At the end of March, Sony officially lifted the veil on the new PlayStation Plus. The Xbox Game Pass competitor is available in three different pricing plans (Essential, Extra and Premium), with prices ranging from €8.99 per month to €16.99 per month. These subscriptions provide access to a long list of games, including backward compatible games like Siphon Filter.
During the official announcement, Sony did not reveal the official launch date of the new PlayStation Plus. The Japanese giant was content to mention an arrival during the month of June. As promised, Sony has disclosed the exact date of deployment of the new formula on its consoles.

Sony will wait until June 22, 2022 to roll out the new PlayStation Plus in Europe
In a recently updated blog post, Sony reveals that Europe will be the last continent to be able to access the new PlayStation Plus. The Japanese firm will first offer the offer in Asia. In a second phase, the formula will make its debut in Japan, the group’s native country. Middle of June, US players will be able to subscribe. Finally, Europe will have to wait until June 22, 2022.
“We’ve been diligently preparing for this global rollout to provide our subscribers with flexible options, quality games and better value for money for a while now, and we’re just weeks away from the first regional rollout”, says Sony. Here is the planned launch schedule:
- Asia (excluding Japan) – release scheduled for May 23, 2022
- Japan – scheduled for release June 1, 2022
- America – scheduled for release June 13, 2022
- Europe – release scheduled for June 22, 2022
De facto, players from France will have to wait until the end of June to subscribe to a PlayStation Plus formula. What do you think of this Game Pass rival? Will you subscribe? We are waiting for your opinion in the comments.
