Well, the people of Plex thought of a way solve this problem so that we never again waste time switching from platform to streaming platform.
Can’t find what you want to see? Plex gives you a hand
Never before has a viewer had so many options to choose from. And yet, many studies show that, faced with such an immense offer, we do not know what to see. In the United States alone, it is estimated that viewers waste 600 million minutes each night searching for what to watch. 44% of these people end up turning off the television without having seen anything at all, no matter how much they pay for one, two or many more memberships.
In Plex they were spinning the bogeyman to save the situation, and they came to the conclusion that only they can act as a ‘one ring’. Since not even operating systems like Google TV really offer the possibility of exploring all streaming platforms as a whole, they came up with the idea of implementing a function that unifies all the services we have in one. The goal is to find a system capable of unifying all streaming accounts, watchlists and recommendations in one place.
Series, movies, lists and recommendations in one place
The solution itself is quite simple. Surely you have ever wanted to watch a movie or a series and you have had to search Google to know in advance which platform of all the ones you pay to broadcast it on. Well, with the new Plex, it will no longer be necessary. Simply, you will search for the title in its search engine and it will return the result regardless of whether the series is on Prime Video or HBO Max, for example. In addition, the system will give you what you are looking for, even if it is not on one of the platforms you have added. Suppose you sign up for Netflix only when the content interests you. Well, thanks to this new search engine, you will be able to know in advance whether or not this month deserves to pay again for this subscription.
you can also create your own lists adding movies and series from different platforms, such as lists by genres, directors or even actors, regardless of whether all the works are scattered across different platforms.
Now available in testing phase
This new Plex feature is totally free. As used to happen until now, if we are looking for extra features, we will have to go through the checkout, but it will not be necessary for this new ‘Discover’ function that we have just described. At the moment, this feature is still in beta phase, but you can test if you join the program is tested. If you do, you’ll usually be invited to give some feedback to make sure it meets your expectations.
