powers and fighting on the program of the film Wu Assasins

Did you like Wu Assassins on Netflix? Good news, the universe of the series returns in the form of a film, called Fistful of Vengeance.

Discreet success on Netflix, Wu Assassins did not say his last word. John Wirth and Tony Krantz’s series will return to our screens in the form of a feature film. The platform has just shared the first trailer, which is rather heavy on fights and digital effects. As a reminder, Wu Assassins followed the adventures of Kai Kin, an aspiring boss who teams up with a felony cop to unravel a mystery and arrest supernatural assassins. A fine mix between the martial arts film and the fantasy, which had nevertheless attracted some followers when it was released in 2019.

But after one season, the American series has been rather discreet. A break that allowed the teams to develop another project, a film that should pick up the story where we left off. Don’t worry, however, if you haven’t seen all ten episodes of season 1, Fistful of Vengeance should hang up the wagons so that as many people as possible can follow the new adventures of the characters. With his team, the assassin Kai hunts down a killer in Bangkok. This vengeful quest then becomes a fight to save the world from an ancient threat.

Never change a winning team

In the casting, we will obviously find a good part of the actors of the series. Iko Uwais, also seen in The Raid, should thus take over the role of Kai. At his side, Lewis Tan will once again camp Lu Xin Lee. The actor is obviously in the small papers of Netflix, since he has also just joined the cast of Shadow and Bone, which has just started filming in Hungary. Moreover, Juju Chan Szeto (Tiger and Dragon 2) and Jason Tobin (Warrior) will also be there.

The main antagonist should meanwhile be played by Yayaying Rhatha Phongam, who we saw alongside Ryan Gosling in Only God Forgives in 2013. Here, she will play a woman endowed with extraordinary powers and a certain mastery of combat techniques. There will be a fight. The production will be ensured by Roel Reiné, who will also direct Halo this year and who had worked on the series Black Sails. The screenplay will be written by Cameron Litvack, who produced Ugly Betty between 2006 and 2007. He had also participated in writing the plot of the series.
