While fans weren’t expecting it, the PS5 version of Final Fantasy 7 is finally going to be offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

Last March, PlayStation Plus subscribers were able to purchase the game for free. Final Fantasy VII, on the eve of the release of the next-gen version. Baptized Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the epic landed exclusively on PS5 on June 10. This improved version, both in its graphics and in its history, could be acquired upon its release to all owners of the original game… except for those who would have downloaded the free version of the PS Plus.

Indeed, Square Enix had restricted the next-gen update to these players since they would not have spent a penny to have it (apart from the cost of the subscription). Today, the situation has changed since the studio announces that the gateway will be available for download for all owners of the game, even to PS Plus subscribers, for free. From this week, Wednesday precisely, the PS5 update should be downloadable.

As a reminder, Final Fantasy VII Remake is, as the name suggests, the remake of the original title, but not that. Overall, it’s the visual quality that should strike you the most when launching the game. With graphics in 4K pushed up to 60 fps, you should enjoy a more than optimal gaming experience. Finally, this news from Square Enix should delight everyone … except maybe the PlayStation Plus subscribers who bought the PS5 game out of their pocket.
